Kansas City Royals announce new Vice President

Former Milwaukee Brewers executive to lead baseball operations.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Royals have hired Matt Arnold as their new Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager. Arnold has over 20 years of experience in Major League Baseball, most recently serving as an assistant general manager for the Milwaukee Brewers. He has a reputation for being a smart and innovative executive and has been credited with helping the Brewers build one of the most successful teams in the National League. Royals owner John Sherman said Arnold was the ideal candidate to lead the team's baseball operations department. "Matt is a proven leader with a track record of success," Sherman said. "He has a deep understanding of the game and a passion for winning. We are confident that he can help us build a championship-caliber team in Kansas City." Arnold said he was excited to join the Royals and was looking forward to the challenge of leading the team back to contention. "The Royals have a rich history and a passionate fan base," Arnold said. "I am honored to be a part of this organization and I am committed to building a winning team that our fans can be proud of." In his new role, Arnold will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Royals' baseball operations, including player personnel, scouting, and player development. He will report directly to Sherman. The Royals have not had a winning season since 2015 and have finished last in the American League Central Division for the past five years. Arnold will be tasked with turning around the Royals' fortunes and helping the team return to contention. He will have his work cut out for him, but Arnold is confident that he can help the Royals get back to winning ways.
